MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) – The CSTO member states will conduct special operations to counter illegal migration, CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha told journalists on 5 February, BelTA has learned.
“We are talking about several special operations. Today we will discuss the details. The operations will be aimed, first of all, at countering illegal immigration crimes and detecting criminal groups engaged in trafficking in persons,” Nikolai Bordyuzha said.
Besides, CSTO experts are discussing ways to improve legislation so that to be ready for the constantly changing conditions.
Minsk is playing host to a meeting of the CSTO coordinating council of the heads of the competent authorities on combating illegal migration. The agenda includes a focus on improving the system of regular information exchange and the migration situation in the CSTO member states.
