MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Surveillance systems will be created to cover the Belarusian-Polish border, BelTA learned from representatives of the State Border Committee of Belarus.
Belarus' Council of Ministers has approved ten international technical aid projects, including a Belarusian-Polish project designed to improve the effectiveness of border control and security. The Belarusian border service will get €790,000 as part of the project.
The project is designed to help fight illegal migration, trafficking in persons, and organized transboundary crime. The goals will be achieved by beefing up Belarusian border security measures by means of creating surveillance systems. The project needs two years to be implemented.
