Belarus Art Week to take place in Sardinia 26 October-6 November

MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Belarus Art Week will be held in Italy's Sardinia from 26 October to 6 November, BelTA learned from Giuseppe Caroni, Belarus' Honorary Consul in Cagliari (Sardinia).

The contemporary art exhibition will make part of the Year of Belarusian Culture in Sardinia (Italy). The event will be held on the initiative of the Bonstake company under the patronage of Belarus' Honorary Consulate in Sardinia.

The solemn opening of the exhibition will take place in Cagliary Town Hall on 26 October. This is a large-scale art forum that spans a wide range of participants, from professionals to amateurs, and offers a unique opportunity for creative self-realization. The cultural event will be dedicated to the topic “A peaceful sky under white wings” meant to promote moral, cultural, and spiritual ideals of the modern age.

The Belarusian participants of the exhibition are set to introduce to visitors diverse art objects in different genres and styles (classic, avant-garde, abstract, and religious) on canvas, birch bark, silk, and wood.

The exhibition features works by artists who have taken part in international projects and won prizes more than a few times: Yuri Leshik, Lyudmila Rybakova, Dmitry Trayenovich, and Alexandra Parmon. Their works make part of private collections in many countries. The exhibition will also display art objects by young aspiring authors: Anna Butko, Yekaterina Goncharova, Anastasia Klimovich, Yelena Kasperovich, and Svetlana Konstantinova.

Sardinia hosted seven events of the Year of Belarusian Culture in 2017 to date with the participation of over 140 Belarusian artists. Several more events are yet to be announced.
