Regulations on provision of housing, utility services improved in Belarus

MINSK, 5 January (BelTA) – The regulations concerning the provision of certain housing and utility services to the population are improved in Belarus. President Alexander Lukashenko has signed a corresponding decree, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document formalizes a temporary provision which was in force in 2016. In accordance with this provision, consumers paid for the technical maintenance of elevators and sanitary maintenance of service areas depending on the number of people registered in the residential premises regardless of the total area of these premises.

The same principle was applied to the payment for the expenses of organizations responsible for the maintenance of the housing stock and (or) providers of housing and utility services, for the electric energy used for the lighting of service areas and the operation of equipment in apartment blocks except for elevators.
