Call for no intermediators in domestic procurement in Belarus

MINSK, 3 April (BelTA) – Intermediation in procurement inside the country needs to be removed, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the nationwide seminar held on 3 April to discuss rural development and ways to enhance the efficiency of the country's agrarian sector, BelTA has learned.

“Today all kinds of products are imported, even those that are produced in the country. We have enough domestic products in warehouses and continue to bring things from abroad,” the head of state said.

“Decisions must be made,” stressed Alexander Lukashenko.

"There should be only direct purchases from producers,” the president ordered.

The head of state also drew the attention of heads of different levels to the need to ensure order in the organizations of the agro-industrial complex, preserve commodity and material values and maintain high discipline. It is also necessary to pay more attention to issues related to the conservation of land fertility, nature protection, and the payment of wages to employees. "There will be strict control over the results. So, roll up your sleeves and start working,” he said.
