TBILISI, 23 March (BelTA) – The official visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to Georgia is now over. The aircraft with the Belarusian head of state on board has left the Tbilisi International Airport for Minsk, BelTA has learned.
Georgia President Giorgi Margvelashvili saw off Alexander Lukashenko at the airport. The two heads of state said warm goodbyes and summed up results of the visit.
Before departure Alexander Lukashenko and Georgia Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili visited the city of Mtskheta, which is an ancient capital of Georgia and the country's key shrine.
Alexander Lukashenko was told and shown how traditional Georgian foods and beverages are made, including lavash and khinkali. Alexander Lukashenko sampled some of them.
The city of Mtskheta is located 20km away from Tbilisi at the confluence of the Aragvi River and the Kura River. The city was founded in the second half of the first millennium B.C.
