Medvedev: Lukashenko's convincing victory confirms broad support for his policy in Belarus

MOSCOW, 13 October (BelTA) – The convincing victory secured by Alexander Lukashenko in the Belarus president election confirms the broad support for his policy in the country. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev made the statement in the congratulatory telegram sent on the occasion of Alexander Lukashenko's re-election as the Belarus president, the press service of the Russian government told BelTA.

In particular, Dmitry Medvedev said: “Your convincing victory confirms the broad support for your policy aimed at raising living standards of Belarusian citizens and the country's active involvement in Eurasian integration processes. Russia highly appreciates your personal contribution to the stronger relations of friendship, good neighborhood, and alliance that connect our countries.”

The Prime Minister of Russia said he was confident that further enhancement of interaction in the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union meets interests of the two countries in full measure.
