House of Representatives to open second session 3 April

MINSK, 30 March (BelTA) – The second session of the sixth-convocation House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus will open on 3 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian parliament.

The spring session traditionally kicks off on 2 April. This year, however, the day falls on Sunday and the session will open a day later.

In April the House of Representatives is expected to host a number of foreign delegations. Poland's parliamentary delegation led by co-Chairperson of the Polish-Belarusian parliamentary group of the Polish Sejm Adam Andruszkiewicz is expected to visit Belarus on 11-13 April. The parliamentary delegation of the People's Republic of China led by Chairman of the Standing Committee of the China National People's Congress Zhang Dejiang will pay an official visit on 16-18 April. The official visit of the Czech parliamentary delegation led by Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies Jan Hamacek to Belarus is scheduled for 18-21 April.

Representatives of the House of Representatives will also hold several foreign visits. Speaker Vladimir Andreichenko is set to visit Pakistan on 10-13 April. Vice Speaker Boleslav Pirshtuk is expected to take part in the Bureau Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Copenhagen, Denmark on 23-24 April.
