MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to have its own flag and banner. The idea was mentioned as Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko appointed heads of diplomatic missions on 22 May, BelTA has learned.

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told Alexander Lukashenko: “I don't know whether you will back it or not but we've suggested instituting a flag and a banner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs just the way it has been done in some other countries.” In his words, the relevant documents have been approved by other government agencies and forwarded to the Belarus President Administration.

Since many Belarusian government agencies have their own symbols, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs may have them, too, Alexander Lukashenko remarked.
