Lyudmila Akhremsheva from the village of Smolitsa, Bykhov District, Mogilev Oblast has been growing marrow squash for more than ten years already. She started off small and now sows areas of over 1,000ha with marrow squash and pumpkin. Farming these crops involves a lot of manual labor for a hefty profit. This year her family has sold about 80 tonnes of marrow squash to a local vegetable cannery and intends to sell over 20 tonnes of pumpkin on top of that.
