UEFA Europa Conference League qualification: BATE edge Dinamo Batumi

MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian football teams played their first matches of the UEFA Europa Conference League second qualification round on 22 July, BelTA has learned.

Belarus' vice champion FC BATE Borisov beat Dinamo Batumi 1-0, with Pavel Nekhaichik scoring the winner in the 83rd minute. The second leg fixture is scheduled to take place at Borisov Arena on 29 July. The winner will face either Petrocub Moldova or Sivasspor Turkey in the third qualification round. The Turkey won the first leg 1-0 in Chisinau on 22 July.

FC Torpedo BelAZ Zhodino lost 1-4 to Copenhagen in Denmark's capital. The second leg match will be played in Russia's Kazan on 29 July. The winner will take on either Lokomotiv Plovdiv or the Czech Republic's Slovacko. Bulgaria won the first leg 1-0 in Plovdiv on 22 July.

Fc Dinamo Brest lost 1-2 to Plzen. The second leg fixture is due in Yerevan on 29 July. The winner will next face either FK Zalgiris or TNS Wales. TNS won the first leg 5-0.

FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk lost to FC Fola 1-2 in Hungary. The winner of the round will play either Linfield or Borac. FC Shakhtyor began in the Champions League where lost 0-1 two times to PFC Ludogorets Razgrad.
