MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – Two Belarusian tennis players will compete in the qualifying tournament for the 139th Wimbledon Championships, BelTA has learned.
In the opening qualifying match on 23 June, Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich (world No. 124) will face Katy Dunne of the UK (No. 575). Iryna Shymanovich (No. 216) will take on Czech player Dominika Salkova (No. 128). To advance to the main draw of Wimbledon, players must come through three qualifying rounds.
The main draw matches of the season’s 3rd Grand Slam tournament will begin on 29 June. The women’s singles final is scheduled for 11 July, the men’s championship match scheduled for 12 July. The 2026 Wimbledon Championships will feature a record total prize fund of £62.4 million. The men’s and women’s singles champions will each receive £3.6 million. Poland’s Iga Swiatek and Italy’s Jannik Sinner won the singles titles in 2025.
