Twenty Belarusians to compete at European Junior Taekwondo Championships 2025

MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) – The European Taekwondo Championships for athletes under 18 will kick off in Aigle, Switzerland, on 19 November, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian team will be represented by ten male and ten female junior athletes. Competing in the men’s events will be Matvey Nasonov (-48kg), Pavel Nikitsin (-55kg), Uladzislau Hromau (-63kg), Uladzislau Shaurou (-68 kg), Viktar Barkouski (-73kg), Mikhail Nedvetsky (-78kg), Yahor Kalasouski (+78kg), Children of Asia Games medalist Uladzimir Maroz (-51kg), as well as European Youth Olympic Festival medalists Mikita Belavyi (-45kg) and Uladzimir Shramuk (-59kg).

Medals in the women’s events will be contested by Belarusians Lizaveta Badanina (-42kg), Viktoriya Karnach (-44kg), Aryna Luksha (-52kg), Anastasiya Kurylionak (-63 kg), Aryiana Ivanashka (-68kg), 3rd CIS Games medalist Dziyana Tolkina (-46kg), European Youth Olympic Festival 2025 medalist Maryia Strunets (-49kg), as well as Children of Asia Games champion Palina Mikhalchuk (+68kg) and tournament medalists Aryna Zhuk (-55kg) and Anastasiya Smirnova (-59kg).

The European U18 Taekwondo Championships will be held on 19-21 November. The senior champions of the European Weight Olympic Categories 2025 will be crowned in Switzerland on 22-23 November. In total, about 700 athletes from more than 40 countries will take part in the tournaments.
