BREST, 27 June (BelTA) – Brest is set to host the Belarusian Open Swimming Cup on 29 June-2 July, spokesperson for the Belarusian Swimming Federation Yekaterina Romanovskaya told BelTA.
The athletes will compete in the 50m pool of the Brest Water Sports Center. Taking part in the tournament will be 342 athletes, including Belarusian oblast and Minsk teams, representatives of the Belarusian national team and its leaders Ilya Shimanovich and Anastasia Shkurdai. Taking part in the tournament on Russia's behalf will be Olympic, world and European winners and medalists.
The teams will arrive in Brest on 28 June and hold first training sessions on the day. The competitions will start on 29 June. The program will feature freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, and medley events in 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m and 1,500m.
The entry will be free. The competitions will be broadcast by Belarus 5 and Belarus 5. Internet channels.
