MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – Dzinara Smolskaya of Belarus clinched bronze in the 7.5km Sprint at the start of the 2024/25 Russian Biathlon Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk, BelTA has learned.
Leader of the Belarusian biathlon team Dzinara Smolskaya had one penalty to finish third, 16 seconds behind the winner, Natalya Shevchenko from Sverdlovsk Oblast. Silver went to Kristina Reztsova from Moscow Oblast.
“I am good, the ski track was smooth and only one penalty prevented me from competing for victory. I felt strong. I plan to keep accelerating at the next events. It is very beautiful at the stadium in the evening, when the lights are on. It even looks like Estersund in Sweden,” Dzinara Smolskaya said after the race.
Belarus’ Ksenia Varabei placed eighth, Yelena Kulak - 12th, Adelina Sabitava - 15th, Darya Kudaeva - 21st. Hanna Sola finished 26th with six penalties, Irina Kruchinkina-Shakleina - 33rd, Hanna Pestsereva - 51st among 60 participants. Earlier today, Anton Smolski clinched bronze in the Men’s 10km Sprint.
