MINSK, 25 December (BelTA) – Biathlete Anton Smolski was named the Best Male Athlete of 2025 at an awards ceremony held by the National Olympic Committee of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

This year, the leader of the national biathlon team won the Commonwealth Cup for the second time in his career and clinched four gold medals at the home-based Best Athletes Cup. Anton Smolski also added numerous medals from the Russian championships and stages of the Russian Cup to his tally.
“Everyone deserved this award, but I am glad they chose me. It is a great honor to be a role model for young people,” Anton Smolski emphasized. “I want to thank my team for their work; I am lucky to work alongside enthusiasts like myself. Belarus produces strong men and beautiful women; we are a healthy nation, both physically and mentally.”
Trampoline athlete Ivan Litvinovich and rower Yauheni Zalaty were also nominees for the Best Male Athlete Award. In 2025, Ivan Litvinovich won the Trampoline World Cup overall title and triumphed at the Synchronized Trampoline Men Final, while Yauheni Zalaty clinched a gold medal at the 2025 European Rowing Championships and won a bronze medal at the 2025 World Rowing Championships.
