MINSK, 12 February (BelTA) - The draw for the group stage of the fifth UEFA Nations League season will take place in Brussels on 12 February, BelTA has learned.
As in the previous season, Belarus’ national team will compete in the third-tier division - League C. For the draw, Viktor Gancharenko’s side has been placed in Pot 3 alongside Estonia, Cyprus, and the Faroe Islands. In the group stage, these teams will face opponents from the other three pots: Pot 1 - Iceland, Albania, Montenegro, Kazakhstan; Pot 2 - Finland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Armenia; Pot 4 - Latvia or Gibraltar, Luxembourg or Malta, Moldova, San Marino. Following the draw, the teams will be divided into four groups, where they will play home-and-away round-robin matches from 24 September to 17 November. The group winners will be promoted to League B.
The main trophy will be contested by the League A teams, who will also compete in four groups, with the top two sides from each group advancing to the quarterfinals. The final stage will take place from 9 to 13 June 2027. In the previous season’s final, Portugal defeated Spain to claim their second title, having also won the inaugural Nations League. France triumphed in the second season, while Spain took the title in the third.
