Belarus to field athletes in five sports at 2020 Winter Youth Olympics

MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) – Belarus will compete in five sports at the 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, BelTA learned from the website of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus.

Belarus will field its athletes in biathlon, Alpine skiing, speed skating, cross-country skiing, and ice hockey.

The Belarusian delegation will be led by head of the International Relations Department of the National Olympic Committee Vasily Yurchik.

The 3rd Winter Youth Olympic Games will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland on 9-22 January 2020. The competitions will feature 1,880 athletes from more than 70 countries. They will compete for medals in biathlon, bobsleigh, curling, ice hockey, luge, figure skating, speed skating, short track, skeleton, freestyle skiing, Alpine skiing, ski jumping, cross country skiing, ski mountaineering, Nordic combined and snowboarding.
