Belarus' team complete mandatory quarantine ahead of 2021 IIHF World Championship in Riga

MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – Belarusian ice hockey players have been released from the mandatory quarantine ahead of the 2021 IIHF World Championship in Riga. The self-isolation was due to special anti-COVID 19 protocols of the championship, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarus Ice Hockey Federation.

All the Belarusian players tested negative for coronavirus. Thus, nothing prevents the national team from starting their training sessions.

Belarus will play the preliminary matches in Group A at the Olympic Sport Center. Belarus will face Slovakia on 21 May, Sweden on 23 May, the Czech Republic on 24 May, the UK on 26 May, Denmark on 28 May, Switzerland on 30 May, and Russia on 1 June. Four best teams will advance into the quarterfinals.
