MINSK, 12 December (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia have established the Association of Badminton Federations. The relevant agreement was signed by President of the National Badminton Federation of Russia Andrey Antropov and Chairman of the Belarusian Badminton Federation Dmitri Oderikho at the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia with the participation of State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, BelTA learned from the Standing Committee of the Union State.
The Association is established to share successful experience in badminton development, promote professional communication, build effective partnership and active cooperation of the parties in conducting physical culture and sports competitions in badminton. The participants of the meeting pointed out that the decision to establish the association was made in the year of the 25th anniversary of the Union State and the 25th anniversary of the National Badminton Federation of Russia.
The meeting discussed joint development of a manual for training badminton coaches, inclusion of badminton in the program of the Union State Spartakiad for children and young people, ways of involving specialists of physical education and sport in the development of this Olympic sport. The participants planned to meet again.
