Belarus’ Huskova qualifies for 2026 Winter Olympics

MINSK, 14 January (BelTA) - Belarusian freestyle skier Hanna Huskova has earned a spot at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, BelTA has learned.

The qualifying event for the Games was the 2025/26 FIS Freestyle Aerials World Cup circuit. Hanna Huskova competed in three out of six stages, finishing ninth in each - once in China and twice in the USA. Hanna placed 19th in the overall World Cup standings. Two other Belarusians, Anna Derugo and Anastasiya Andryianava, placed 26th and 28th, respectively. A total of 25 women will compete in the aerials in Italy, with the women’s Olympic aerials events scheduled for 17-18 February.

The upcoming Olympics will be the third in Hanna Huskova’s career. In 2018, the Belarusian won gold in PyeongChang, South Korea, and four years later in Beijing, she earned a silver medal. Figure skater Viktoriia Safonova, speed skater Maryna Zuyeva, cross-country skier Hanna Machakhina, and alpine skier Maria Shkanova had previously earned their Olympic spots.
