Belarus' Feklistova claims gold at summer Paralympics event in Sochi

MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) – Belarus is taking part in the Summer Paralympic Games We Are Together. Sports in Sochi, BelTA has learned.

Among the participants of the event are teams from Belarus, Armenia, Germany, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Mali, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Eritrea, and Russia. The first competition day featured medal events in fencing, draughts and chess, football and shooting.

Kristina Feklistova of Belarus claimed gold in fencing, Aleksandra Ilminskaya took bronze.

The Paralympic Games We Are Together. Sports are underway in Sochi through 9 October. Athletes will take part in 436 medal events in nine summer sports: athletics, swimming, table tennis, archery, taekwondo, wheelchair fencing, football, draughts and chess.
