MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) - Daniil Ostapenkov of Belarus has become a quarterfinalist at the 2026 Challenger Shymkent in Kazakhstan, BelTA has learned.
In the second round, the Belarusian defeated Belgium’s Buvaysar Gadamauri in a three-set match, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. The match lasted for two hours and 15 minutes. Daniil Ostapenkov made it into the main draw of this competition through qualifying, and in the Round of 32, he overcame Italy’s Samuele Pieri in three hours, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (8-6). In the doubles quarterfinals, Daniil Ostapenkov and fellow Belarusian Sergey Betov will face the Kazakh-Moldovan duo of Denis Yevseyev and Radu Albot.
The tournament in Shymkent concludes on 25 April.
