MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) - First Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Aleksandr Dorokhovich spoke about the development of infrastructure in 2024 as he spoke at the board meeting of the Sport and Tourism Ministry to sum up the results for the year 2024 and tasks for 2025, BelTA learned.
According to Aleksandr Dorokhovich, 88 sports infrastructure facilities were put into operation in Belarus last year. Of them 24 objects were built within the framework of the state program. "In 2025, construction of sports facilities kicked off in three districts, while work on design and estimate documentation started in five districts. The goal for this year and the next five years is to fulfill the task set by the head of state to develop sports infrastructure in the regions."
"In 2024, we commissioned the international class swimming pool, the Traktor stadium in Minsk, which underwent major renovations, and a sports and recreation center in Dzerzhinsk. The National Football Stadium is slated for opening this year," the official said. “The construction of the BSUFK dormitory was completed; a new training field with two levadas and a shed for horses was built in the National Center for Olympic Training of Equestrian Sports and Horse Breeding. Work on modernization of the medical and rehabilitation center in the National Center for Olympic Training in Athletics and a number of other sports facilities is on the home stretch ".
