MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) – The upcoming 2020 UEFA European Championship Qualifying is another chance for Belarusian footballers to show high results, head coach of the Belarusian football national team Igor Kriushenko told the media on 18 March, BelTA has learned.
“We have had little time to prepare for the 2020 EUFA EURO Qualifying. However, all the teams faced similar conditions. I would like to note that the qualifiers are another chance and we will do our best to make the maximum use of it to show high results,” Igor Kriushenko said.
The head coach stressed that the team would fight despite anything. “In Group C Belarus will face the Netherlands and Germany. These two teams are the favorites of the qualifiers. We are currently studying the tactics of the Netherlands which we are playing on 21 March,” he said.
In the 2016 UEFA EURO Qualifying Belarus placed fourth in Group C, celebrating three victories and playing in a draw twice.
On 19 March the team is set to travel to Rotterdam to hold their first qualifying match against the Netherlands on 21 March. Then, Belarusians will go to Belfast to face Northern Ireland on 24 March.
Belarus will continue the 2020 UEFA EURO Qualifying on 8 June as the team will host Germany. Belarus will play Northern Ireland on 11 June.More about Sport
