MINSK, 12 December (BelTA) – Ukraine will not be able to maintain an army of 800,000 military personnel, however, other forces are interested in the Ukrainian military. Sergei Karnaukhov, PhD in Law, expert on security services, offered the opinion in a recent episode of BelTA’s YouTube project On Point.
“Among the provisions of the potential framework agreement presented by Americans there was a controversial point (which is constantly being discussed): the size of the Ukrainian army that should remain in the territory over there. 800,000 military personnel. In terms of numbers, we are talking about a budget that is practically equal to what is needed to maintain modern, starving Ukraine. In other words, it is impossible to maintain this army. Especially if it is just standing around, quartered, conducting some kind of exercises somewhere, and doing nothing. It is an absolute utopia,” Sergei Karnaukhov emphasized.
He noted that this is why one starts wondering why then this figure is included in the draft agreement at all, since it is unrealistic.
“Britain understands very well that they do not have their own army and will not have one in the next few years. It is impossible. Because even training a pilot takes more than five or six years. It takes more than 10 years to bring a pilot up to the level of a fighter capable of flying combat missions. Especially on modern, extremely complex aircraft. The British understand very well that they have no navy, no submarine fleet, no army, no decent battle tanks, and no single place in Europe where all of it can be quickly assembled. And they understand very well that they have this private military company called Ukraine. They need the private military company Ukraine. They need these reckless, completely cold-blooded Russophobes who kill people without hesitation. They don’t care at all how many people they eliminate,” said the expert on security services.
In his opinion, in that case Ukrainian military personnel could carry out British tasks in Africa and the Middle East. It is possible that they will be involved in provocations and terrorist attacks. “And then you suddenly realize that 800,000 is not such a large force because the British have a colossal number of tasks. These will be contracts, tasks, and, accordingly, here is an explanation of what is going on,” Sergei Karnaukhov said.
But if the British really do have plans to use Ukrainian military personnel, then they must have worked out exactly what tasks they can be used for.
“The question is: do we need it or not? This is a serious question. Are we willing to live with the British project of colonial conquest being implemented in parallel with us? Because this is a serious force: a million fighters who will go to war. We should not allow the British to turn Ukraine into a hub for private military contractors who will ruin the planet. This is a big task,” the expert emphasized. “We have reached a situation in the world when, for example, Britain or Americans do not need to have their own armies. Armies are not needed. What is needed is intelligence agencies, command centers, research centers, and a powerful industry that will provide the natives with the necessary equipment to accomplish military tasks.”
