Stamp to be launched to mark Belarusian diplomatic service's centennial

MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – On 22 January, Belarus' Communications and Informatization Ministry will release a stamp sheet to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian diplomatic service, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Belarusian mail service Belpochta.

The sheet pictures the emblem of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs which has contributed to the project.

Each stamp costs enough to send unregistered international mail (letters and small parcels) with the weight of under 20g. The circulation of the stamp sheet will be 15,000 copies.

The Belarusian diplomatic service will turn 100 years on 22 January. On that day in 1919, the Zvyazda newspaper published the first public report on the launch of the Commissariat for Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Soviet Republic of Byelorussia in the city of Minsk. This date is considered the beginning of the history of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
