MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – As part of the Belarusian-Russian strategic army exercise Zapad 2025 [West] the 227th combined-arms military training area is used to practice repulsing aerial attacks against the staging area of a combined-arms reserve of the regional military force, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.

Air defense missile units practiced combat firing at aerial targets, which were imitating aerial attacks. Motorized infantry units practiced the destruction of the enemy’s unmanned aviation, which is an important part of modern warfare.

Apart from that, steps were taken to detect and neutralize sabotage and reconnaissance forces. The military personnel were busy improving their skills of detection and elimination of the threats meant to destabilize the situation in the exercise area. To improve the cohesion and the combat ability of the joint military force all the actions are practiced in conditions resembling actual combat as much as possible.

BelTA reported earlier that 12 September saw the start of the Belarusian-Russian strategic army exercise Zapad 2025. The exercise is scheduled to take place in military training areas of both states on 12-16 September.
