MOSCOW, 12 January (BelTA) - Russia, which holds the presidency in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in 2026, intends to consolidate the efforts of CSTO member states in addressing international security challenges, BelTA learned from the organization’s press service following a meeting held at the CSTO Secretariat on 12 January with the participation of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandr Pankin.

CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov, who assumed his post on 1 January 2026, emphasized the importance of consolidated efforts to implement the priorities of the Russian presidency. These priorities are aimed at strengthening allied ties and the CSTO’s role in shaping an architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia.

“Aleksandr Pankin noted that Russia will unite efforts with its allies to uphold common approaches to solving international security issues. The focus will be on deepening foreign policy coordination among member states, including through enhancing analytical work based on expertise from the organization’s leading research centers,” the press service said.
