MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – A new regular flight Minsk - Urumqi - Minsk has been presented in Beijing. It will become available from 16 December, BelTA learned from the National Tourism Agency.
The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People's Republic of China Aleksandr Chervyakov, Deputy Director General for Marketing and Foreign Economic Activity of Belavia Vladimir Barkun, Director of the National Tourism Agency Dmitry Morozov.
Belarus’ tourism potential was presented to the Chinese partners. The presentation was followed by negotiations between Chinese travel companies and Belarusian tour operators that are authorized by China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism to receive Chinese tourist groups.
The National Tourism Agency emphasized that the Minsk - Urumqi - Minsk flight opens up new opportunities to promote tourism between the two countries. Urumqi is an important air hub, providing convenient connections to all regions of China.
The flight will be operated by the national air carrier Belavia on Mondays. It will take six hours to get from Minsk to China’s northwestern city, and 6 hours 40 minutes to travel from Urumqi to Minsk.
“The new flight offers a great opportunity for Belarusians to discover the beauty and culture of China, and for Chinese tourists to get to know hospitable Belarus,” the National Tourism Agency noted.
