MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – The government has submitted the bill “On amending laws on railway transport” to the House of Representatives, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
The bill clarifies the powers of the head of state and the government concerning railway transport.
Key provisions include transferring certain functions of the paramilitary security of Belarusian Railways to the Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The bill provides for the consolidation of powers and delimitation of functions of the bodies exercising state control (supervision) in the field of railway transport.
The bill also proposes introducing licensing regulations for public railway transport and expanding the scope of personnel subject to mandatory medical examinations, certification, and technical training.
Furthermore, it clarifies the conditions for granting the right to operate railway vehicles.
