MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) - Belarus and China have large joint plans for further cooperation in the cultural sector, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Zhang Wenchuan said during the festive symphony concert Chinese New Year 2026 at the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theater, BelTA has learned.
The head of the diplomatic mission emphasized that the Spring Festival in 2024 was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, thus becoming a shared holiday for people around the world. He drew attention to the fact that the Association of Chinese Compatriots’ Organizations Huaqiao has already successfully held Chinese New Year symphony concerts in Belarus twice. In this way, music serves to build something of a bridge of mutual understanding, fostering a spiritual closeness between the peoples of the two countries.
The ambassador noted that China and Belarus are developing bilateral ties on the basis of mutual respect, becoming a model of a new type of international relations.
Zhang Wenchuan emphasized: “A great symphony requires outstanding conductors. It is precisely under the strategic leadership of the presidents of our two states that the political mutual trust between China and Belarus is continuously strengthening, and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields is developing in all areas. Our countries, adhering to mutual trust and mutual understanding, are together performing the symphony of jointly building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind. In the symphony of Chinese-Belarusian friendship, every representative of the two countries present in this hall is a performer who contributes to the creation of the score of friendship.”
Music has much in common, the Chinese ambassador to Belarus told the media. “We want to showcase comprehensive Chinese culture to our Belarusian friends. Music plays a very important role in this matter as a carrier of Chinese culture and civilization,” he said.
