MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) - Belarusian diplomats in Uzbekistan took part in commemorative events dedicated to the 37th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Tashkent.
Commemorative events on the occasion of this date were held on the grounds of the Victory Park memorial complex in Tashkent. Defense Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Uzbekistan Ruslan Sakovets and diplomats from the Belarusian embassy participated in a flower-laying ceremony at the Ode to Resilience monument in memory of the soldiers from Uzbekistan and CIS countries who perished in the Afghan War.
Additionally, a rally took place at the Museum of Glory, located on the complex’s grounds, during which participants honored the memory of the fallen internationalist soldiers.
