Protasevich: Belarus' opposition is plagued by squabbles

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – Pavel Latushko tried to carve out the post of prime minister for himself as he bargained with Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, Roman Protasevich told the ONT TV channel on 3 June, BelTA has learned.

“The NAM [National Anti-Crisis Management] was supposed to be launched by Svetlana Tikhanovskaya. It should have been, in fact, her cabinet of ministers. However, a day before the launch, Latushko somehow got his hands on everything and declared the NAM his initiative,” Roman Protasevich said.

According to Roman Protasevich, prior to that, Pavel Latushko tried to carve out the post of the head of government. “He just stole the project a day before the launch. This offers a glimpse of how many squabbles actually occur between them. For example, Viacorka stopped short of punching Yerokhovets, a representative of the Country For Life group. In other words, there are a lot of internal conflicts, and this is actually what the headquarters are most afraid of,” he emphasized.
