 PM holds meeting to discuss development of Belarus' national postal service Belpochta

MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) - The future of the Belpochta postal service - from traditional letters to digital services and e-commerce - was discussed at a meeting with Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin, BelTA learned from the press service of the government.

The heads of the Communications and Informatization Ministry and Belpochta reported on the main areas of increasing the efficiency of the national postal operator, including changes in approaches to the provision of a number of traditional postal services.

Belpochta provides traditional services to forward written correspondence and deliver printed mass media and actively taps into digital services.“Each line of business should ensure a positive result taking into account strategic decisions on its development,” the prime minister emphasized.

Director General of Belpochta Svetlana Yurkevich noted that thanks to its developed infrastructure and logistics, the postal operator is actively involved in e-commerce to deliver, in cooperation with electronic platforms, orders to every community center in the country. It is also developing its own online store, selling there both postal products and consumer goods of Belarusian manufacturers.
