Pakistan to take part in International Army Games 2019 in Belarus

MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) – Pakistani military have plans to take part in the International Army Games 2019 that will take place in the territory of Belarus, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Defense Ministry.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of the Armed Forces of Pakistan Zubair Mahmood Hayat is on an official visit to Belarus. The Pakistani delegation has met with the defense minister and the minister of foreign affairs of Belarus to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the defense industry, trade and economy.

“General Zubair Mahmood Hayat informed that Pakistani teams have plans to take part in the contests of the International Army Games 2019 that will be held in the territory of Belarus,” the press service noted.

The delegation is set to meet with senior officials of the State Military Industrial Committee, visit the Military Academy, as well as manufacturing facilities and defense industry enterprises.

The International Army Games have been held every year since 2015. In 2018 they were hosted by seven countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, China and Russia. All in all, the International Army Games included 28 events. Taking part in them were the military from 32 states.
