Over 700 trucks stranded at Belarus' border with EU

MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – Over 700 haulers were queuing in Belarus to cross the border with the European Union as of 12.00 on 15 September, BelTA learned from the website of the State Border Committee.

Over 30 trucks are queuing at the Belarus-Latvia border at the Urbany checkpoint.

More than 30 heavy-duty trucks were waiting to cross the border with Lithuania at the Vidzy checkpoint, 180 at Kotlovka, more than 130 at Kamenny Log, over 60 at Benyakoni.

Over 100 trucks were waiting to cross the Belarus-Poland border at the Bruzgi checkpoint, more than 60 at Berestovitsa, and over 120 at Kozlovichi.

“Failure by Lithuania and Poland to comply with the truck throughput agreements continues to be a reason for queues at Belarusian checkpoints. The lowest percentage of observing the throughput agreements - 13.5% - was registered at the Lithuanian checkpoint of Tverečius (Vidzy on the Belarusian side), and the highest - 92.8% - at the Polish checkpoint of Bobrowniki (Berestovitsa on the Belarusian side),” the State Border Committee informed.

Trucks left Belarus for Ukraine without delays.
