Moscow, Minsk to lift mutual travel restrictions once COVID-19 situation stabilizes

MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – Moscow and Minsk will be lifting restrictions in mutual trips once the situation with COVID-19 stabilizes, Russian Vice Premier Alexei Overchuk said at a plenary session of the 7th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia on 29 September, BelTA has learned.

“We have resumed air traffic between Moscow and Minsk. We will continue removing restrictions in mutual trips once the epidemiological situation is back to normal,” Alexei Overchuk said.

Russia's Aeroflot resumed flights from Moscow to Minsk on 26 September. The Belarusian air carrier Belavia will resume flights to Moscow on 30 September.

The Russian government allowed Belarusian citizens to enter the Russian Federation through air checkpoints. Russia imposed a ban on the entry of foreign nationals, including citizens of Belarus, in late March over the coronavirus infection. The ban to enter Russia by road and rail remains in force.
