MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – A strong family is a serious investment in the future of the country, Belarus' Labor and Social Security Minister Irina Kostevich said at the roundtable session “Strong family - strong state” held in the Memorial Church of All Saints in Minsk on 21 October, BelTA has learned.
“We have set a task to encourage fathers to play a bigger role in the family. Our husbands and fathers realize that their role is not only to provide for the family, but also to give love, attention, care to their wives and, of course, children, because children, a strong family are a serious investment in the present and the future of our country,” Irina Kostevich said.
According to her, family support is not only about financial matters. Raising awareness about the value of the family and the role of mothers is very important. Not everyone understands it, the minister said. It is puzzling to see some mothers taking their children to rallies. “We, women, are the ones who are supposed to bring peace, love and kindness,” she added.
The roundtable session was a continuation of a very important cycle “For Belarus!” In this regard, Irina Kostevich emphasized how important it is to cultivate love and wellbeing in the state and the family (the family is a small state).
The cycle of roundtable sessions “Strong family - strong state” was initiated by the Belarusian Union of Women.
