MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – New types of COVID-19 vaccines may be available in Belarus, but the existing supply of vaccines is enough to meet the domestic demand, Belarus' Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich told reporters on 14 October, BelTA has learned.
The minister noted that there are biological, medical, trade and political aspects of vaccines. Both inactivated and viral vector vaccines are used in Belarus. Belarusians can choose from among the Russian and Chinese vaccines, but those produced in Europe are not available in the country.
“Now the cost of vaccines in the COVAX system is decreasing. Perhaps we can consider purchasing new types of vaccines. As a doctor, I can say that the available vaccines are quite enough to curb the pandemic,” Dmitry Pinevich noted.
