MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – U.S. President Donald Trump understands that it is impossible to settle the conflict in Ukraine without Belarus. The independent military analyst Aleksandr Alesin mentioned it in a recent episode of BelTA’s YouTube project On Point.
The analyst pointed out that there are very serious disagreements between the United States of America and Europe over the conflict in Ukraine at present. “I think the president of the United States needs the assistance of our president and of our country in resolving the issue of the war in Ukraine. He understands that our country is one of Ukraine’s largest neighbors and has an advanced border in terms of territory. And I think that Trump understands that it is impossible to resolve the Ukrainian issue without involving Minsk,” Aleksandr Alesin said.
In his opinion, Belarus is a donor of peace in the region and Donald Trump may agree to a number of Belarus’ wishes in order to establish productive cooperation. “As Trump likes to call it, to make a deal,” Aleksandr Alesin added.
