MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia have always been and will be together, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova said as she met with Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of the Russian Federation Gleb Nikitin, BelTA has learned.
“We are sincerely interested in continuing fruitful cooperation with the Russian Federation. We value our good relations. We will maintain close cooperation between the two fraternal peoples. As our president said, two countries - two economies - one economic space,” said Natalya Kochanova. “We have always been and will be together, because we know what we want. We want our people to live in harmony. This is how it is and will always be.”
The speaker emphasized that Belarus and Russia marked the 25th anniversary of the Union State Treaty on a large scale. “The decision taken 25 years ago has proved to be absolutely correct. We are pressing ahead, we have built fruitful cooperation not only in economy and trade, but also in absolutely all areas,” the chairperson of the Council of the Republic added.
