MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – Russia and Belarus stand united in preserving the historical memory and countering history falsification, Chairman of Russia's Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin said at a joint meeting of the foreign affairs commissions of the upper houses of the Parliaments of Belarus and Russia in Minsk on 13 November, BelTA has learned.
"We attach particularly great importance to cooperation in preserving the historical memory and patriotic education of youth. We welcome the establishment of a joint Belarusian-Russian commission on history launched under the auspices of the presidents' administrations of our countries in late January," Grigory Karasin noted.

According to him, the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War will certainly be the key event of 2025. "This is the most important anniversary of our common history. It will demonstrate our unity in preserving the historical memory and countering history falsification. I think it is important to pay special attention to the joint conduct of the Belarus Remembers and Immortal Regiment campaigns in our cities, which would show the fraternal unity of our peoples," Grigory Karasin added.
