International Labour Conference postponed for 2021

MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) - The International Labour Organization has postponed the upcoming session of the annual International Labour Conference for June 2021 due to the spread of COVID-19, BelTA learned from the website of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

“The decision was taken in the light of severe worldwide travel restrictions due to the pandemic,” the message reads. The associated 338th and 339th sessions of the ILO governing body scheduled for 25 May and 6 June 2020 respectively will not take place either.

The International Labour Conference meets once a year in Geneva, Switzerland, to discuss key world of work issues, craft and adopt International Labour Standards and monitor their implementation. It brings together government, worker and employer representatives of the ILO's 187 member States. The 109th session of the annual International Labour Conference was originally scheduled for 25 May – 5 June.
