MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) – In the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel, political analyst, military expert, and former Israeli statesman Yakov Kedmi assessed the likelihood of a scenario in which the United States could unite with Canada and purchase Greenland.
The expert noted that U.S. President Donald Trump is attempting to implement a completely new strategy that will impact the geopolitical order of the entire world. “What’s emerging now is a different world order, with a much stronger and more advanced United States in terms of resources and territory. This will allow the United States to pursue its economic and domestic policies to remain the leader of the Western world. Not in Europe, not in the Middle East, but in the Western Hemisphere. For the United States, the Western world begins with the Monroe Doctrine: from northern Canada, which will be part of the United States, to Tierra del Fuego, from the Sargasso Sea to the Hawaiian Islands. This is their base. There are sufficient human and natural resources there, and this does not require military action,” the expert argued.

Considering the possible unification of the United States and Canada, he assessed this scenario as quite likely. “Why can’t Canada and the United States be in one state? The United States, together with Canada, is a huge, economically powerful country. They will have the entire Arctic. It will be a completely different United States,” he said.

The expert noted that Donald Trump is considering a similar scenario regarding Greenland. “What links it to Denmark? What does it have to do with it? Greenland might as well be part of the United States. The Americans bought Indian territories, so they’ll buy Greenland too. It’s just a matter of price.”

“Therefore, when I look at the U.S. policy Trump is trying to implement today, I say: Greenland’s next, Canada get ready. Nothing will stop it,” Yakov Kedmi said.
