Belarus once again offered a site for the POW exchange. The people were brought to the Belarusian-Ukrainian border crossing Novaya Guta in Gomel Oblast where the exchange happened. The military personnel were examined by medics. They were given meals and some time to rest and then they were sent home. Certainly, the first phone calls were placed to their families to tell the loved ones that they were coming back. Nobody could stop their tears.
One of the Russian soldiers said that his sister waits for him at home. He and his sister grew up in an orphanage together and she supported him in everything. The guy was going to gift her her portrait that he had made himself. Another serviceman was glad that he would get back home just in time to congratulate all the women on the International Women’s Day. He will also celebrate his birthday in late March.
