MINSK, 2 January (BelTA) – The My Belarus exhibition continues its run at the BelExpo National Exhibition Center. BelTA found out what the exhibition offers for families with children.
The exposition is divided into thematic zones: Driver of the Economy, Security Technologies, Foundation of Strength, Science and Innovation, Progressive Medicine, Sports Olympus, Energy for Life, Natural Heritage, Smart Agriculture, Traditions and Cultural Heritage, Belarus.Travel, Architectural Heritage and Technologies, and Modern Achievements and Innovations. Master classes, tastings, and other engaging activities are held at the stands, while the concert hall hosts theatrical performances, concerts, and cartoon screenings.
At the exhibition, children are particularly drawn to the mini-zoo from the Baranovichi Animal Park and the natural installations showcasing Belarusian landscapes, which display the beauty of nature across different seasons. Visitors can see a partisan-themed New Year tree, chat with Grandfather Frost, try their hand as a tractor driver, sit in the cabin of special-purpose vehicles, view the descent capsule of the first Belarusian female cosmonaut, and see Belarusian-made robots.
In the Energy for Life cluster by the Ministry of Energy, the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant (BelNPP) stand takes center stage. It features detailed scale models and cutaway models of substations with power lines. Boys and girls can learn how electricity is generated and transmitted, how energy workers use underwater and aerial drones, what the virtual assistants Aliona and Alesya can tell them, and much more.
The Foundation of Strength zone, dedicated to architecture, construction, and infrastructure development, allows visitors to witness the transformation of the country’s architectural and urban planning potential, from the past to the future. Interactive zones have been prepared by leading telecommunications industry enterprises. Each stand is a step into the world of innovations that are already making life more convenient, safer, and more interesting today.
Sports Olympus is the sports and physical culture section. Here, visitors can try their hand at various sports and recreational activities, including those created using innovative technologies (table tennis with a robot, a laser shooting range). Sporting events are also organized. Athletes invite visitors to participate in training sessions, highlighting the importance of sports and a healthy lifestyle.
Security Technologies is an exposition by law enforcement agencies showcasing modern equipment and developments in public protection. For example, the Ministry of Internal Affairs allows visitors to feel like real motorcyclists and traffic regulators. The interactive stand of the State Security Department explains how the latest innovations have become integral to operational activities. A historical section is dedicated to people who heroically fought for the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War.
Border guards have prepared displays of document verification and vehicle inspection equipment, a collection of sample documents, and counterfeit passports seized from border violators. Furthermore, the border service is showcasing an automated border control complex and interactive simulators.
The platform of the Ministry of Emergencies visually demonstrates how the emergency response system operates at all levels: from science and training to practical prevention and emergency response. Visual effects using light and smoke are employed for better perception. Here, visitors can test their knowledge of basic life safety through electronic quizzes and practice the algorithm for calling the rescue service on a special tablet. Additional visual impact is created by holographic projections.
For the young audience, a quest zone has been prepared featuring a simulated smoke-filled room where, through gameplay, children can complete a task to find objects and learn the basics of safe behavior in a fire. An LED screen on the outer side of the structure shows thematic videos. Children will also enjoy interacting with representatives of the canine service.
Among the exhibition’s participants is the Belarusian State Academy of Aviation. The university presented modern VR complexes used in cadet training.
The Science and Innovation section showcases the achievements of researchers and developers, including space technologies. The Smart Agriculture zone highlights the accomplishments of the agricultural industry and the food industry. In the former, popular science lectures are organized for visitors; in the latter, tastings are held.
Progressive Medicine is the healthcare sector zone. Here, visitors can get acquainted with a smart operating room, a smart intensive care unit, and advanced technologies in transplantology. Universities, clinics, national scientific and practical centers, pharmacy, from a retro pharmacy to a modern one, as well as equipment manufacturers are represented.
The Driver of the Economy exposition is dedicated to industry and investment projects. It provides an opportunity to trace the entire technological chain from natural raw materials to finished products across various industries: light industry, woodworking, oil refining, and mechanical engineering.
The project organizers call My Belarus the most heartfelt and family-friendly exhibition in the country. Both adults and children will find activities to their liking. Admission to the exposition is free. Two bus routes have been organized for visitors from the Akademiya Nauk (Academy of Sciences) and Pushkinskaya metro stations. The current schedule of events can be found on the informational resources of BelExpo.
