"On Point"
MINSK, 7 October (BelTA) – The global governance initiative put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping fully meets the standards adopted in Belarus, the national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“If I am not mistaken, this is already the fourth global initiative proposed by China. And this one on global governance fully meets the standards already adopted in Belarus. In essence, this initiative fully reflects our own desires, aspirations, and the formats we promote in relations with our partners,” Aleksandr Tishchenko said.
The expert noted that China's initiative is closely aligned with the principles of equality and respects the interests of all nations, regardless of their size. “We cannot but support this initiative because this is the kind of multipolarity we expect and are eager to build. Aleksandr Grigoryevich [Lukashenko] supports his Chinese partner because it also corresponds to our institutional approaches, directives, and doctrines,” he emphasized.
As was reported, Chinese President Xi Jinping put forward the global governance initiative at the SCO Plus meeting held on 1 September in China’s Tianjin. The initiative was proposed to further develop and complement the previously introduced initiatives on global development, security, and civilization. The idea is to work together with all countries in order to create a more just and equitable system of global governance and to advance together toward a community with a shared future for humanity.
The Belarusian head of state noted that Belarus fully and completely supports the initiative of the Chinese president. “And first of all, because this initiative is based solely on equality and justice. This is what is lacking in the development of international relations today. From Xi Jinping, we heard a clear assessment of the situation and key principles for tackling the real problems of countries and peoples: sovereign equality, the supremacy of international law, and multilateralism. We are keen to join this initiative both within the SCO and at the UN platform,” the Belarusian leader said at the SCO Plus meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council.
