Emergency response agencies of Belarus, Mongolia interested in advancing cooperation

MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky met with Chief of the National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia Gombojav Ariunbuyan, representatives of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry told BelTA.

Vadim Sinyavsky and Gombojav Ariunbuyan discussed matters concerning future cooperation. The openness of Belarus’ Emergencies Ministry to cooperation across the entire spectrum of professional activities was stressed, including cooperation in the sharing of the best practices in emergency management, training of rescue workers, sport, scientific activities, and logistic support for rescue workers. Cooperation within the framework of international organizations and in many other avenues of mutual interest was also mentioned. The lists of joint events, which are scheduled to take place soon, was also discussed.

Expert interaction with Mongolian colleagues has been going on for 20 years already, the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry said. The memorandum on cooperation in the prevention and liquidation of emergencies, which is supposed to be signed during an official ceremony involving the presidents of both states tomorrow, will give a special impulse to the advancement of this cooperation.
