MINSK, 3 December (BelTA) – In the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel, Russian political scientist and orientalist Karine Gevorgyan argues that Donald Trump is focused on consolidating his own power and does not possess the physical means to hinder Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
She noted that Donald Trump’s 28-point peace plan for resolving the Ukrainian conflict has failed to significantly change the situation.

“Does Trump need peace in Ukraine? He’s being honest about it. He’s openly saying, ‘If you don’t want to [implement the peace plan], then keep fighting,’” Karine Gevorgyan stated.

The political scientist referenced the concept of network-centric warfare, which has existed in America for a quarter of a century. “They successfully applied it in one case – against Iraq, throwing all their weight and all their might, with enormous technical, technological, and informational superiority. And in a week or two, they defeated Iraq. Is Trump planning to defeat Russia? Why would he need it? The previous administration emptied his arsenals and sent something to Ukraine. They emptied the treasury, stealing like crazy. The crucial part in all of this is the NABU publication. Now, amid all this tumult surrounding Trump’s peace plan, even these murky figures got nervous. The next installment will be another NABU publication. That is the real drama. All inner adversaries, all internal enemies, will be thoroughly disgraced. An FBI investigation has been opened, and so on,” Karine Gevorgyan explained.

According to the expert, the American leader faces a wide range of domestic challenges that require his attention. “Trump is busy strengthening his own power, but what about Ukraine? He physically doesn’t have the capacity; he doesn’t have this kind of bases with this kind of troops and capabilities to hinder Russia. Yes, he can obstruct. And he is obstructing. After all, he hasn’t yet canceled information support and satellite control of operations in Ukraine, but even that isn’t helping,” the political scientist concluded.
